Welcome to the New Parent Diaries—
a collective blog for anyone along the journey of becoming a parent.
Between becoming parents during a pandemic and living in an already isolating society, many of us long for the ancient tradition of learning about and processing the new parent experience in community.
We offer this space as:
a therapeutic place to process the immense rite of passage that is becoming a parent— whether you’re just thinking about it as a possibility, have multiple kids, or anywhere in between.
a collectively generated archive of new parent wisdom and insight.
a community of other parents and parents-to-be with whom you can walk this path alongside and feel less alone in your experience.
a resource that more accurately reflects the realities and identities of parents today than the overwhelmingly heteronormative discourses in most books, websites, and other materials for people becoming parents.
We invite you to write about anything that would be helpful for you to write about. Write as much or as little as you like. It doesn’t have to be “good.” We just ask that it be honest. (It can be anonymous!). Then, invite a friend (or partner!) who you think could benefit from sharing and being witnessed in their experience.
What’s one thing you are currently processing about your journey?
